Guelph police are investigating after an internet cryptocurrency rip-off resulted in a person dropping practically $100,000.
Police stated the person was contacted by an unknown particular person after posting in an internet discussion board in September that he was searching for help studying the best way to put money into cryptocurrency.
By the tip of October he had reportedly transferred roughly US$50,000 and was advised the funding was now value greater than $210,000.
After being requested to make two separate transfers of $21,000 to pay a tax on the revenue, investigators stated he grew to become suspicious and contacted police.
