SELINSGROVE – PennLive is reporting… A 26-year-old Snyder County man obtained taken to the financial institution by some scammers.
The unidentified Port Trevorton man informed state police Saturday he was anticipating $210,000 in money in return for a $23,000 funding. As an alternative he acquired a briefcase containing rest room paper and books. The person informed police Saturday that since June 1 he had used a money app and bitcoin to pay $23,000 for what he thought was an funding.
When he acquired the briefcase, supposedly containing the $210,000, he was informed he needed to pay an extra $9,000 to get the code to open it, troopers stated. That’s when he realized it was a rip-off. He didn’t pay the $9,000 and took the briefcase to the Selinsgrove state police barracks, they stated. It seems the rip-off originated within the U.S., police stated.
